Who am I?
What i do!
My two main mediums are painting and printmaking. I use these mediums as a tool to further explore my identity. Leaning into what I liked about art when I was younger —and using my current skill set— I’ve created a space where my past and present self live in harmony while also further exploring my identity. A big theme within my art is nostalgia and how it can be such a powerful tool for figuring out my current self. Diving into the complex feeling that comes with nostalgia and childhood memories, I’ve found that it can all be quite confusing. Since I grew up in the age of rapid technology progression, I notice that many people around me have very similar experiences to me. Then, who am I if not my own unique perspecive? Am I myself because of my experiences or maybe because of who I am at the core? Why do I think so differently from those who raised me? Why is everyone not more unified then?
All these questions I explore throughout my art.istic process, and it helps me to have a perspective on myself and those around me that is every changing and open to empathy.
